Neon + Neon

Here I am wearing a sheer neon blue scarf over a plain black long sleeve t-shirt. I paired my cheetah print pants with black pumps and a stellar hot pink neon quilted purse with gold accents.

I didn't write much on this post because there is a wonderfully written Accessories Report on collegefastionista.com  by Lauren Synder, about this look. Please go check it out!
Here I am wearing the same scarf at the annual Granddaughters Club Tea on Spelman College's campus. The attire is hat a glove. The Granddaughters Club (started in 1910) is the legacy club on campus for students that have a relative that attended Spelman. They were the historians before Spelman even thought to hire one. They were the keepers of history and tradition, and still are to this day. I was the Web Master of this club last year.

Two of my cousins have attended Spelman and many of the men in my family have graduated from Morehouse College (our brother school right next to us). I'm continuing the legacy and aiming to keep it in the family for generations to come!

Check out my dear friend's blog about Spelman and her experience (Danyelle in the top center pic). It has a vast WEALTH of info on Spelman. I'm in love with it.

The Resources

This look had so many different inspirations.
It has become one of my favorites.
I wore my Urban Expressions Purse to match my head wrap.
The leg warmers were trending, and I wore them with my patterned stockings because I didn't own any suspender stockings that were so popular at the time.
I do the best that I can with what I have. I may not buy every trend that comes out, but I draw inspiration and creativity from it and create a masterpiece to the best of my ability with the resources I have.
This stockings were thrifted from my mother's closet.
The shorts are in my DIY section. They are from Goodwill and I bleached, cut, and distressed them. The Camera at night made them look a lot brighter than they actually are. They were bleached in an ombre fashion. The pics in DIY do it justice.
I chose to wear my scarf as a belt:
It matched the blue in my head wrap, and was a unique and innovative way to wear it.
Try wearing an accessory in a new way and tell me what you come up with.

GLO

This was a wonderful day.

The blue and white polk dot pants I'm wearing are from Forever21.
Gucci Wallet.
My blue (bracelet) is actually a stone necklace I bought in Mexico a few years ago.
My shades were 8$ from Pinkheart accessories in Atlantic Station in Atlanta Georgia.

Flower Earrings are from Forever21.

(Best Braid out of my life. lol I had it conrowed for five days then took it out.)
My colors are very subdued so I choose red lipstick for a pop.
I cut the shirt myself. DIY

The shoes were 30$ from Rainbow.
My top is the T-shirt for my organization the AUC Tigersharks Swim Club comprised of Spelman, Morehouse and Clark Atlanta University swimmers. My freshman year I was the First Female Captain in history. It's an amazing revival story. We are rebuilding a legacy and I'm a part of the history now.

This is the day we had our GLO in the dark swim party for a fundraiser, So I wore it for advertisement. It was epic and this year will be bigger and better.

Something for the 80's Ladies

Fashion recycles every 30 years approximately. That places us into 1983 right now. By giving you this rule of thumb all you have to do is ask your parents what was popular to have a correct cheat sheet for what will be "in."

I thrifted this reversible wind breaker from the Scholar Shop in St. Louis Missouri for about 20$ (with the wind pants included). The Scholar Shop is one of the best thrift shops I've been to so far. It was very big, and they had a great selection. But aside from that their profit goes towards students in the area through the Scholarship Foundation of St. Louis.
So I'm glad to sport this fabulous wind beaker for a good cause.

Enjoy this Video from the Shoot
Music: By Pretty Ricky entitled Cuddle Up

I'm wearing a gold circle necklace I got as a gift a few years ago, and old gold hoop earrings for my accessories.
This is the picture I chose for my CollegeFashionista.com Style Guru Bio for this summer. I wrote a few articles in the Accessory Report section for Fridays! So check it out:)

These platform black and white polka dot wedges are from Forever21. They are 29.80$

"My body cries because of all of the lies

I THROW MY HANDS GRASPING UP TO THE SKY
to me all people at one time in their life defy,
and foolishly I believed you wouldn't lie"

I got these shades in a store called PinkHeart in Atlantic Station in Atlanta Georgia for 8$. What a steal!

This wind beaker has become a favorite piece of my wardrobe.

 Tunnel Vision.

This red crop top has horizontal slashes on the entire back. I got it for a few dollars at some inexpensive store like wet seal.

I challenge you to comment with a link of your 80's inspired trendy look to be featured on the site!
