Welcome to 2014! This year you probably have a New Year’s resolution to upgrade your wardrobe to the best of your ability (or at least put more effort into how you dress than you did last year). This is great news! Everyone deserves a fresh start. But you can’t move forward if you are stuck in the past.
Here’s a list of a few things you can do to freshen up your wardrobe for 2014:
Go shopping: Determine what trends work for you and which ones you want to go for this season. Make a specific shopping list of items and shop with a purpose in store with New Year sales.
Give away old clothing to charity: Start the New Year off on a good foot with a good deed. This activity will make you feel good, benefit others in need, and make a difference all while helping you let go of some old things in your life.
Mix up things: you have never worn together before. If you can’t figure out how, ask a stylish friend to help show you how to mix and match different items.
Rearrange your closet: Color code it or put all tops together and all bottoms together. Fix your shoes. Straighten your jewelry. It will give you a fresh feeling to look at a clean closet. The new energy may help inspire a new outfit.
DIY: You can look at my DIY section in the tab at the top of the page for some inspiration and directions. Bleach, cut, tear, distress, stud, paint, and tie-dye it up!
Don’t forget to look for inspiration. For a new vision, or perspective, you need new visuals. Look through my archives (or other blogs, magazines and publications you admire) for color schemes, themes, trends and silhouettes you want to try out.
Happy New Year
